Pesticide cost-share programs

50% Cost-Share

A 50% cost-share (landowner pays 50%) is given when purchasing pesticides for the control of State Designated and County Declared weeds and pests.

A 50% cost-share is given for the purchase of rodenticides for controlling Prairie dogs and pocket gophers. 

Their is a 50% Cost share for the application of the poison via Commercial applicator.

An 80% cost-share (landowner pays 20%) is given for purchasing herbicides for the control of "special management species". Currently leafy spurge and spotted knapweed are the two species under that program.

rEIMBURSEMENT Programs

Special Management Program

A landowner chooses to hire a commercial applicator for treatment of leafy spurge or spotted knapweed, the District may offer 80% reimbursement for the cost of application.


Landowners must come in and sign up prior to April 15th of each year. 

Only costs associated with treating leafy spurge or spotted knapweed are eligible, and detailed maps and records are required.  

  • District reserves the right to only cost-share on approved chemicals up to $5,000
  • Landowners have the choice to use any contractor they prefer. 
  • The district reserves the right to cost-share only on applications up to $10,000. 
  • Projects that are estimated to go over 10,000 must be addressed by the board before moving forward with the project or landowners will be maxed at $10,000 cost-share reimbursement. 
  • (( INCLUDING BIO )) -  Max of 2,500

Prairie Dog Program


A landowner chooses to hire a commercial applicator for treatment of Prairie Dogs, the District may offer 50% reimbursement for the cost of application as well as the poison.


  

Must come in and sign up prior to October 30th of each year

Only costs associated with treating Prairie Dogs are eligible, and detailed maps and records are required.

  • Up to 2,000 LBS. ( one pallet of product) 
  • Anything over 2,000 must have been addressed by the board before moving forward or the project or landowners will be maxed out at the 2000LBS cost-share reimbursement
  • 30/70 Cost-Share - If not signed up.
