A 50% cost-share (landowner pays 50%) is given when purchasing pesticides for the control of State Designated and County Declared weeds and pests.
A 50% cost-share is given for the purchase of rodenticides for controlling Prairie dogs and pocket gophers.
Their is a 50% Cost share for the application of the poison via Commercial applicator.
An 80% cost-share (landowner pays 20%) is given for purchasing herbicides for the control of "special management species". Currently leafy spurge and spotted knapweed are the two species under that program.
A landowner chooses to hire a commercial applicator for treatment of leafy spurge or spotted knapweed, the District may offer 80% reimbursement for the cost of application.
Landowners must come in and sign up prior to April 15th of each year.
Only costs associated with treating leafy spurge or spotted knapweed are eligible, and detailed maps and records are required.
